    Principal Message

    Dear Families,

Currently class teachers are conducting their student led conferences. This is an opportunity for all families to discuss your child's progress with not only the teacher but with your child. Appointments are available in both a face to face format or via Zoom. I would strongly encourage all families to make an appointment with your child's teacher.

Next weekend we have our Movie night. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Parent Forum for putting this event together - it should be a wonderful family evening.

TELL THE FROM ME SURVEY - the school is asking all families to take part in this survey. It is open until the end of this month. The survey will allow you to provide valuable information about our school which will support us in our future directions and planning.

This Monday (August 15th) we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption.  The Assumption signals the end of Mary’s earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with Jesus. It is a Holy Day of Obligation and as such all students from the school will be attending Mass on this day.

Last Friday we had a wonderful send off for our music teacher Mr Cenda - a big thank you to the bands, drumline and choirs who performed on the day. This week we welcome our new music teacher Mrs Gabi Mathews.  Mrs Mathews was able to take the music classes for this week and had her first rehearsals with the bands and choirs. I am sure you will all make Mrs Mathews feel very welcome.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    Best wishes,

    Brian Laybutt

THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Monday 15 August, we will be celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Whole School Mass at 9:15 celebrated by Father John.

    Holy Day of Obligation

This important feast day is celebrated to recognise the Assumption of Mary our Mother into heaven, body and soul, at the conclusion of her earthly life. Mary is a model of faithfulness, love and generosity in whom we should try to aspire our life.

This feast is a celebration of God’s great and special love of Mary, who was so faithful to the will of God, that upon her death, she received the fullness of God’s life in heaven.  She was an ordinary woman who placed her trust so completely in God. Through her life we see the great blessings that can come to us when we believe and trust in God’s way.

    Confirmation Commitment Masses

Last Weekend we celebrated across the three Masses in our Parish the Commitment Pledge being read by our students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This celebration will take place on Friday 9th Sept. at 6:00pm at St Anthony’s Church, Kingscliff.

    Semester 2 SRC Students

On Tuesday at the Parish Mass we blessed the SRC badges and distributed them to our new leaders for this Semester. It was wonderful to see many parents join us on this occasion. We look forward to their leadership and contribution to our school community.

    Nationally Consistent Collection of Data

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) gives Australian schools, parents, guardians and carers, education authorities and the community information about the number of students with disability in schools and the adjustments they receive. All schools must report the data collected for the NCCD to the Australian Government on an annual basis. The NCCD collects data about school students with disability who are receiving adjustments across Australia in a consistent, reliable and systematic way. It enables schools, education authorities and governments to better understand the needs of students with disability and how they can be best supported at school.
