Assistant Principal Message

Dear St Ambrose Families,
It's been wonderful to see so many of our students participating in recent excursions, retreats, and Sporting Gala Days. In addition to this, our K-2 students will commence their intensive swimming program on Monday. This program teaches fundamental water survival skills and swimming strokes, providing a strong foundation for a valuable life skill that children can enjoy.
Years 4 - 6 school camps are rapidly approaching. School camps and excursions provide hands-on learning experiences that enhance classroom education by fostering curiosity and exploration. These activities promote teamwork and collaboration, helping students build social skills and friendships outside the traditional classroom setting. Exposure to new environments encourages adaptability and resilience, while also sparking enthusiasm for learning. Additionally, camps often focus on environmental awareness, physical activity, and cultural appreciation. None of these enriching experiences would be possible without the incredible commitment of our staff. A heartfelt thank you goes to them for generously giving their time away from their own families to guide and support our students.
Overall, these experiences contribute to the holistic development of students, enriching their educational journey and creating lasting memories that shape their growth.
Warm regards,
Chelsea Carter

Sacrament of Confirmation

Last Friday evening Bishop Gregory Homeming celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation with 41 students across our Parish Schools. This was a tremendous celebration with many families and friends attending. Thank you to the Year 3 teachers for their hard work in preparing our students for this Sacrament.

Jubilee Year of Hope 2025

Our School celebrated the arrival and presence of the Hope Boat last week with a Mass on the Tuesday morning followed by Prayer Liturgies for our students.

The Jubilee Logo
🌍 The Jubilee Logo – A Symbol of Hope ✝️💛
The Jubilee Year of Hope has a special logo that tells an important story!
👥 The logo shows four people from all around the world, standing together and holding onto each other. This reminds us that we should care for one another and be united as one big family.
✝️ The person at the front is holding onto the cross. This shows that our faith in Jesus gives us hope, especially when life is difficult.
🌊 Underneath them, there are waves. These remind us that life is sometimes stormy and hard, but we must keep going with hope.
⚓ The bottom of the cross is shaped like an anchor! An anchor keeps a ship steady in a storm, just like hope in Jesus keeps us strong during hard times.
🛤️ The people in the logo are walking together toward the cross. This reminds us that we are pilgrims on a journey of faith and hope—not alone, but together!
💚 At the bottom of the logo, the words "Peregrinantes in Spem" mean "Pilgrims in Hope."

Burger Fundraiser

On Tuesday the 9th of September the delicious smell of chicken burgers roamed around Saint Ambrose. The day was a massive success with students lining up just waiting for the tasty crunch of the crispy chicken burger. We were raising money for a gift giving to the school each year from the year six students, thankfully we got many orders put in through flexi schools. We would like to thank Mr Bottle, the parent helpers, and year six students that gave up their time and kept the day going.
Kind regards,

Year 4 Dune Care and Marine Centre Excursion
Our Year 4 excursion to Hastings Point was so much fun! We went to the Dune Care and Marine Centre, where we learned all about the special plants that grow in our area. We even got to plant our own little trees! We also got to see and learn about incredible marine life from right off our coast at the marine centre. It was amazing to learn about how all these animals and plants work together to keep our beaches healthy. We learned so much and had a super fun day!

Father's Day 2025

We had an incredible morning celebrating all our amazing dads and special friends at our Father's Day BBQ! It was wonderful to see so many of you join us for a morning filled with delicious bacon and egg rolls, great company, and music. The kids absolutely loved spending quality time with their special people in their lives, the ball games on the oval were a huge hit.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the day so special, and a special shout out to the kindergarten families for the very generous raffle ticket donations. We can't wait to do it all again next year!

Netball NSW Schools Cup Gala Day
On Wednesday, 47 enthusiastic students from Years 3–6 proudly represented our school at the Netball NSW Schools Cup Gala Day held at Arkinstall Park, Tweed Heads.
It was a wonderful day filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of fun. Our students displayed great sportsmanship on and off the court, encouraging one another and showcasing the skills they have been developing during school sport.
Our teams competed strongly against schools from across the Tweed region, with many exciting and close matches played throughout the day. The students should be commended for their positive attitude, determination, and the way they upheld our school values.
A special thank you goes to our coaches—Browyn Gudsell, Zoe Roberts, Shelley Batson, Brooke Elliott and Natalie Thomson—for leading our teams. We are also grateful to the mums and dads who came along to cheer, and to the teachers who helped organise and support the teams on the day.
We’d also like to give a massive thank you to our ex-students—Annabelle Batson, Lula Daley, Elsie Dillion and Darcy Holder—for generously umpiring and assisting throughout the gala. St Ambrose truly appreciates your help and contribution.
